Reading the site

Artwork, styles and interface scripts are served from this site. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party fonts, embedded social widgets, or signup forms. The hosting provider may keep ordinary web-server access logs, including IP addresses and request details; a static site does not make those logs disappear.

Analytics and your choice

Google Analytics is off until you choose Allow analytics. If you decline, its tag does not load and this site sends no Analytics pings to Google. After accepting, Google receives page-visit and device/browser information, including the IP address involved in the network request, and Analytics may set first-party cookies. Google handles that information under its own policies.

We use it to understand page visits and clicks on the Recovery Drill download. We do not send your selected files, their names or fingerprints, checklist progress, account details, or form input. Our tag configuration strips query strings and fragments from page URLs and referrers, and disables advertising personalization and Google Signals. For our tagged Instagram links, it also sends the fixed campaign labels instagram, social, field_manuals_launch, and one of bio, lost_phone_recovery, browser_privacy, or recovery_drill. Other query values are not copied into those campaign fields.

Use Analytics choices in the footer to change your decision. Your choice is kept in this browser for up to 180 days. Declining stops our Analytics integration, removes accessible first-party Analytics cookies, and reloads the page if the tag had already loaded. It cannot retract information already sent.

Your checklist

The checklist saves completed step identifiers in your browser’s local storage under crypt1k.independence.v1. The site’s code does not send them to a server. They remain on that browser until reset, cleared by you, or removed by the browser. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to see them.

Use Reset progress on the tools page to remove the saved checklist. If browser storage is unavailable, progress lasts for the current visit.

Recovery Drill file checks

When you choose a folder on the Recovery Drill page, the browser reads matching practice-file contents and compares them locally with the practice manifest. The checker does not upload selected files, filenames, or fingerprints. It does not save them to browser storage. A report is downloaded to your device only when you choose Save verification report; it includes relative filenames for differences. Closing the page releases its in-memory selection.

Source links lead to other websites with their own policies and logging. They open as ordinary links rather than embedded content. No affiliate links are included in this launch edition.
